WWII 'pill boxes' ( concrete fortifactions ) line the cliff tops at Happisburgh. In an earlier visit a few years ago i found one of these concrete constructions up turned on the beach after it had been washed away along with the field and cliff it had been stoood on, eventualy this 'Pill Box' will face the same fate
Happisburgh is probably better known for the local coastal erosion, in the foreground can be see the new sea defences of large boulders piled up to about a height of 4 ft and stand proud of the bottom of the cliff face dissipating the power of the incoming sea, this view looking south shows the new ramp built by the contractors contracted to carry out the sea defence work which allows access to the beach
